27 de julio de 1933 - 27 de noviembre de 2023
27 de julio de 1933 - 27 de noviembre de 2023
Marie Adele Stillman (“Toots”) passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the age of 90 at Ellen’s Home in Port Washington. She was born the daughter of Edgar and Teresa Knueppel (Zaph) in Franksville, WI on July 27, 1933. After attending high school at Girls Tech in Milwaukee, Marie married Elwyn Stillman in 1951 and they had four children - Diane, Scott, Lori and Dan. She devoted her life to raising her four children as a single mother after her divorce while also working in the offices of Sears Roebuck, which she retired from at the age of 62. As her children grew older, she enjoyed exploring a variety of classes at her neighborhood community center including ceramics, woodworking and exercise classes. Marie inherited her mother’s joy of crafting. She enjoyed drawing, painting, crocheting and jewelry making. She was an animal lover who enjoyed going for walks with dogs Max and Sheba. She was always interested in keeping up with the latest literature on health and wellness and sharing it with her family. She loved gardening, cooking and sharing healthy meals with her loved ones. She was festive and very much enjoyed the holidays and family gatherings. Marie’s life accomplishments were taking care of, looking out for, and always being there for her family.
Marie is survived by her son Scott Stillman and daughter Lori Barnekow, her grandchildren Clint Clausing (Christie), Shawn Clausing (Jeff), Stacie Barnekow, Brandon Barnekow (Jess), and Audrey Stillman, her great grandchildren Tyler Shackelford and Lucas Hoff, as well as other relatives and friends.
Marie is preceded in death by her daughter Diane Clausing, son Dan Stillman, grandson Ryan Stillman, great-grandson Noah Barnekow, her brother Robert Steib, sister Anne Zajdel, brother William Knueppel, and brother Edgar Knueppel Jr., as well as other relatives.
A sincere acknowledgment of thanks from the family of Marie goes to The Tamarac Adult Day Service in Hartford for daycare provided to Marie, and to Ellen’s Home in Port Washington for assisted living and hospice care provided to Marie.
Private service will be held.
